Things that make our team go: 🥹

This kind supporter wrote to us after we cared for a baby rabbit they had brought in earlier this month. After treatment at Northern Colorado Wildlife Center, the little rabbit—nicknamed by the rescuer, “Dottie” for the white dot on its forehead—was healthy enough to return home to the wild.

Today, Dottie is thriving, seen grazing with other wild rabbits in the yard where she was released. Along with their kind words, this supporter also included a donation to help ensure more animals get the same chance at life.

Every note, every gift, every rescued animal—it all comes together to make stories like this possible. Thank you to everyone who stands with us and with Colorado’s wildlife! 💚

It’s Wishlist Wednesday — and this week, our wildlife patients are going nuts for… well, nuts! 🌰 Our wildlife hospital is running low on in-shell nuts (almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, and pecans). These nutritious treats are a vital part of the recovery diets for our small mammals and birds, helping them build strength and practice natural foraging behaviors before release. If you’d like to help, you can send donations directly from our Amazon or Chewy Wishlists (https://a.co/2XODgLa), or drop off nuts in the shell at our center: 2637 Midpoint Drive, Suite E, Fort Collins, CO 80525 Every handful helps fuel the recovery of patients like squirrels, jays, chipmunks, and other wildlife preparing to return home to the wild. Thank you for always stepping up for Colorado’s wild neighbors — your support keeps us going strong through every season! 🐿💚 . . #WishlistWednesday #WildlifeRehabilitation #WildlifeRescue #WildlifeCenter #WildlifeHospital #ColoradoWildlife #NCWC #WildlifeSupp...

Would you believe us if we told you we admitted a dragon today at our wildlife hospital?

Would you believe us if we told you we admitted a dragon today at our wildlife hospital? We hope the answer is yes—because that’s exactly what happened! Today, our team welcomed a Chinese water dragon through a transfer from our friends at @nocohumane for a short but important stay until his new adoptive family could pick him up from our center. This sweet, docile lizard was surrendered by his previous family when they had to move and were unable to bring him along. Thanks to our transfer partnership, he was able to receive excellent care while we helped facilitate a smooth, timely adoption into what we hope will be a loving forever home right here in Fort Collins. Relationships like this ensure animals receive the best possible care while making adoption transitions as seamless and convenient as possible for both families and animal welfare organizations. Chinese water dragons are intelligent and curious reptiles known for their vibrant green scales and gentle personalities. Native to...
