NCWC’s 2nd Annual Trunk-or-Treat is happening Saturday, October 18th from 3–6 PM at our Fort Collins center — and you’re invited! This free, family-friendly community event will feature candy, games, face painting, live animal meet-and-greets, a haunted house, and more.

We still have some vendor spaces open — and they’re not just for businesses and community groups. Individuals and families are encouraged to sign up too! All it takes is a decorated trunk or booth, some candy or swag to hand out, and a little Halloween spirit to help us make this year’s event our best one yet.

When I first stepped into the world of wildlife rehabilitation, I never imagined just how deeply it would shape my life. Every day is a new challenge, a new story, and a new life saved. From orphaned baby squirrels to injured raptors, each animal that comes through the doors of the Northern Colorado Wildlife Center (NCWC) reminds me why this work matters so much—not just for them, but for all of us. I’ve always believed that wildlife rehabilitation is more than just fixing broken wings or nursing animals back to health. It’s about restoring balance, inspiring future generations of conservation heroes, and giving nature a fighting chance. At NCWC, we’re not just rescuing animals—we’re educating communities, protecting habitats, and advocating for the voiceless.
