This is the impact of one person spending one hour cleaning up litter from one lake.

This is the impact of one person spending one hour cleaning up litter from one lake.

Fishing line, lead weights, cans, zip ties, rusted nails, straws, and other discarded debris pulled from a single shoreline — all items that pose a serious threat to wildlife. Birds, turtles, mammals, and fish can become entangled, injured, or killed by litter that’s often overlooked or left behind.

When one person chooses to stop, notice, and take action, the impact is immediate. Fewer hazards in the water. Fewer animals at risk. A healthier space for wildlife and people alike.

Moments like this remind us that conservation doesn’t always start with big programs or sweeping policies — sometimes it starts with one person, one place, and one hour.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to care for the places wildlife call home. 💚
